Praise

 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand;

                                                                                                                                       Psalms 149: 6 [KJV]

God is always faithful. As His people, we have both a shared purpose and individual callings, but our greatest purpose is to worship Him. Our praise is not determined by our circumstances; it is rooted in the unchanging truth that God is sovereign and that Jesus Christ has already conquered sin, death, and the powers of darkness. The victory Jesus won on the cross is our victory. Because of His finished work, we can rejoice with confidence, celebrate His goodness, and worship Him wholeheartedly. He fulfilled the will of the Father on our behalf, and for that alone, He is worthy of endless praise.

My child, today, put on the garment of praise. Lift your voice and magnify the Lord. Let His praises fill your heart and overflow from your lips while you are driving, cooking, cleaning, working, or waiting for Him to move in your circumstances. Whatever you are doing, let your life become a continual song of worship.

Psalm 149:6 also speaks of having a two-edged sword in our hands. In its original context, this referred to God's people carrying out His righteous judgment against ungodly nations. Today, as followers of Christ, we do not wage physical battles but spiritual ones. We stand firm in God's truth, live in obedience to His Word—which Scripture describes as the double-edged sword—and overcome evil by faithfully honouring the King who has already secured our victory.

So today, sing His praises with joy, stand firmly on His Word, and glorify His holy name. Let your worship declare that Jesus reigns forever.

Dear Lord, we praise your name at all times, morning, noon and night. Oh, hail King Jesus. We worship you with our lips and a double-edged sword in our hands. You have given us victory, and we praise you aloud. The Lord deserves all the glory, honour, power and praise. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
